The text[edit]

Keong mas (golden snail) is a legend from Java, Indonesia. It tells a story of Dewi Limaran, the wife of Prince Raden Putra. She was taking a stroll in the garden when she spotted a snail on one of the flowers and threw it away. The snail turned out to be an evil witch in disguise. As a revenge, the witch turned the princess into a golden snail.

One day, an old widow was fishing at the river. When she got home, she found a golden snail among her catch. The next day when she returned home, she found that her house was all cleaned up. Because she was curious, the next day she pretended to go out of the house but then sneaked in again. Sure enough, she saw a beautiful girl tidying up her house. When she saw this, she understood what had happened and threw the snail shell to the river to break the curse.

The Keong Mas IMAX theater in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah was designed as a large, golden yellow snail-shaped building in the theme park.
