Even if you "speedy delete" this article - the river will still be there tomorrow and not go away any time soon. What kind of sources do you need for the existence of a major river? --Erdal Ronahi (talk) 02:26, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/iraq/terrain.htm mentions both rivers called Khabur. --Erdal Ronahi (talk) 02:45, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hezil River

[edit]

If my geography is correct, this river is most commonly called the Hezil river in Turkey. --NortyNort (talk) 21:19, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Hezil Suyu river and the Little Khabur river are two different rivers and are not to be mistaken one with the other.--Sweetcorn (talk) 20:11, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect article?

[edit]

I believe there is some confusion over the name given to this river.

The Khabur joins the Euphrates as shown in another Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khabur_(Euphrates) The main map from this page clearly shows the Euphrates & Khabur central and the Tigris further to the East: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b2/Khabur_River_in_Syria_2004_CIA_map.jpg Google maps also confirms these locations: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Little+Khabur+River/@37.1064385,42.3511352,15z/data=!4m8!1m2!2m1!1skhabur!3m4!1s0x40091993352c7527:0xee3a31eea0301756!8m2!3d37.1484307!4d42.6592469 I believe the map shown on this article "Khabur (Tigris)found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khabur_(Tigris)#/media/File:Khabur_(Tigris)_green_2.jpg refers to this location and the Hezil Cayi river (see borders as referenced in said article:Syria,Iraq,Turkey): https://www.google.com/maps/place/Tigris/@37.1040374,42.3523108,15.92z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x3fe7a50d353471ef:0x9fa8d81e43060351!8m2!3d34.7229918!4d43.6698811

I believe the mistake may have been made wit the 'Little Khabur river which flows ver close to the Hezil Cayi river: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Little+Khabur+River/@37.1528568,42.5851019,15.26z/data=!4m8!1m2!2m1!1skhabur!3m4!1s0x40091993352c7527:0xee3a31eea0301756!8m2!3d37.1484307!4d42.6592469
