Wikipedia page stolen for website?

[edit]

Rocklahoma is using this content on their site without citing it came from Wikipedia (they're probably also using it on print media), which I'm sure is against the GFDL. I don't know who to contact about letting them know this...

I'm on it, Ziggy. I'll post it to the Administrators' noticeboard; someone there will know how to deal with it. Thanks for your concern. Cheers! SunDragon34 (talk) 22:14, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If they already have the content why are we keeping our users from seeing what we have on this site, forcing them to see information about my favorite 80's band from their site. Have you ever heard of closing the barn door after the cows have gotten out? We should put the information back up and get them to cease and desist using it. It's in the administrator's noticeboard archives now... Aethercracker, I will say that Wikipedia never lost the content (if we did, it was a vandal?).. it's just kind of stupid that they'll go and print this and put it on their site and tout it like it's their content when it's not as far as I can tell (I'll shut up when it's proven they contributed to Wikipedia and then used the content on their site). I put up a notice on the mirrors and forks page, but it looks like it never got taken care of... WP:Mirrors_and_forks/Pqr#Rocklahoma.com - Ziggy the Hamster (talk) 03:45, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality issues

[edit]

Love the band, but the writing here looks like it came from a publicist.

A few examples:

""Kix Are for Kids" creatively merged the name of the band..." The word 'creatively' is far to subjective for the sentence.

"Kix, Baltimore's favorite hard rock band garnered quite a reputation for themselves as one of Maryland's most exciting live cover bands..."

Awful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kirinprof (talkcontribs) 21:54, 27 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Added a neutrality tag indicating cleanup is needed. Article language is not neutral and appears plagerized from subject's promotional materials. Needs heavy editing to meet POV quality standards. BenKetchum (talk) 03:12, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
