The so-called "restoration"
[edit]There has recently been a large amount of damage done to Kizil Kilise, with modern constructions added to it that have seriously altered the design and form of the original structure. Such is the incompetence of those involved that they did not even bother to examine Gertrude Bell's photographs before starting their rebuilding work. The ground levels around the monument have also been cleared bare, effectively destroying the site as a potential site for archeological excavation. Sources directly derived from the persons or organisations who inflicted this damage cannot be considered neutral sources. Tiptoethrutheminefield (talk) 23:25, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
Page Move Explanation
[edit]I have restored the "Kizil Kilise" title from the recent move to "Kızıl Kilise". It is called Kizil Kilise in almost all academic sources (all except one recent Turkish-language one, I think). Also, given that there had been an earlier page move, the editor who moved it to "Kızıl Kilise" was required to consider any future move as possibly controversial and so should have first proposed that move here so that it could have been discussed. - NB, the disambiguation page was also moved - I have been unable to move it back. Tiptoethrutheminefield (talk) 20:58, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
