"Unsigned" claim

[edit]

The idea of them being the first unsigned band to chart appears to be PR spin designed to confuse idiot journalists. What they really mean is "self-published", and self-published singles charting is not unusual. Wikipedia needs to be very careful here, and the current wording is completely wrong in this regard. --88.110.235.235 09:50, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I've thought that - I've tried to re word it, though it is worth mentioning that most self-issued tracksa re on some sort of nominal record label --Robdurbar 10:01, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The accuracy of the 'first unsigned band to chart' claim is really down to lazy journalism. Koopa themselves regard themselves as being the 'first unsigned band to reach the Top 40 on downloads alone', which I believe is accurate.

COI

[edit]

Editor Tommytomato (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) has a clear COI. In the edit history he says, "I represent the bands management. please do not undo, or I will report malicious editing." See discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard.
