Jewish town

[edit]

Someone should add (I have poor verbal skillz) that Korosten was a town with a very large Jewish population and Jewish culture, prior to the collapse of USSR. Now there are almost no Jews left in Korosten. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Judenrat (talkcontribs) 17:27, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Contradiction

[edit]

The article states After the (Cheronbyl) nuclear incident, the city was declared a zone of voluntary evacuation, as it had suffered considerable fallout But now 65,000 live there. So what happened ? Did people refuse to evacuate or was it later deemed safe fro them to return ? 20:02, 25 September 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.166.79.54 (talk)

Orphaned references in Korosten

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Korosten's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "kiaupa":

  • From Grand Duchy of Lithuania: Kiaupa, Zigmantas; Jūratė Kiaupienė; Albinas Kunevičius (2000) [1995]. "Establishment of the State". The History of Lithuania Before 1795 (English ed.). Vilnius: Lithuanian Institute of History. pp. 45–72. ISBN 9986-810-13-2.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 02:35, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deity (Khors or Xors)

[edit]

The comment connecting to a supposedly Greek sun god is a) unreferenced, and b) looks like somebody's personal theory or a popular etymology. Look for instance at a dedicated scientific paper here, at Wiki's own Deities of Slavic religion: Xors Dazhbog, and less academic, but nicely put together here.
