Are how to's allowed in wikipages such as this? Is there such thing as being TOO informative? I feel that the more people write about a specific subject and delve deeply into it, the more the reader grasps ideas of the information given to him or her.Trilinguist (talk) 07:58, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rhizomel

The word rhizome links to a general article on the botanical usage of the word, where in this case it refers to Lesser galangal. (Source) I think there should be a disambiguation for it, but I'm not sure if it should be that or Kaempferia galanga. 24.83.20.94 (talk) 06:11, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It can refer to both or others. The rhizomes of both Kaempferia galangal and Alpinia officinarum are both used. In addition, so is Alpinia galanga. There are also lesser known species of Alpinia in Cambodia that may be substituted or used as a specialty for certain kroeungs such as Kaempferia pandurata. --Dara (talk) 04:33, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
