Please cleanup this article. Add sources. Sasank Sleeper (talk) 23:19, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In particualr a source for the Rivera quote is needed. DES (talk) 00:59, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

[edit]

Lead

  • "The album was solely produced by herself." "The album has a contexture of mariachi and ranchera music." I suggest merging these sentences into "The album was produced by Rivera and features ranchera and mariachi music"

 Done

  • "The album had sold 112,000 copies in the United States as of November 2011." → "has sold 112,000 copies"

 Done

  • When you quote someone, you must also put a footnote at the end even if it is on the lead

 Done

By footnote, I just meant using a reference. You can reuse the same reference you used on the reception section. I apologize for not being specific. Erick (talk) 02:47, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Link the first instance of Billboard

 Done

  • "The album earned a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Ranchero Album at the 11th Annual Latin Grammy Awards" in what year?

 Done

  • "Although banda has dominated most of Rivera's studio albums" incomplete sentence, merge it with the following sentence like this: "Although banda has dominated most of Rivera's studio albums, Rivera stated..."

 Done

  • "Those were the people that she was going after." Sounds too casual. How about something like "Rivera decided to record an album in mariachi to appeal its fan" or something like that?

 Done

Recording and covers

  • Not required, but do you know where the album was recorded at?
I do not know.
  • " It consists of twelve tracks originally performed by other singers, with the exception of the title track, which was composed by Rivera." Put "cover" between twelve and tracks and wikilink cover versions.

 Done

  • "Rivera also translates and records "Before the Next Teardrop Falls" into Spanish." I think "Rivera also recorded a Spanish-language version of the song as "Estaré Contigo Cuando Triste Estés"" would be much better.

 Done

  • ""Ya Lo Sé", was originally recorded by Mexican singer Lupillo Rivera (who happens to be Jenni Rivera's brother)" → ""Ya Lo Sé", was originally recorded by her brother Lupillo Rivera"

 Done

Promotion

  • "Rivera performed "Ya Lo Sé" and "Porque No Le Calas" at the 11th Annual Latin Grammy Awards.a" In what year? I'm assuming the "a' after the period was put there by accident.

 Done

  • Removed the link to La Gran Senora en Vivo as you already linked it above per WP:OVERLINK

 Done

Commercial performance

  • You need to source the music charts and certifications even if it's already sourced on the chart and certification tables below. Use <ref name=[insert something here]/> to reuse the same reference.

 Done

  • "The album had sold 112,000 copies" → "has sold"

 Done

  • "The albums was certified double platinum (Latin field) by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipments of 200,000 copies" The table and RIAA says platinum for 100,00 copies, not double platinum

 Done

  • "A music video was released for it, which was directed by Jose Serrano and filmed in Los Angeles, California." Source? You can link to the music video itself on YouTube but it must come from Vevo or the record label. Use {{cite video}}

 Done

  • "Alex Henderson of Allmusic gave the album a positive review" should be "Alex Henderson of Allmusic gave the album four out of five stars" per the rating.

 Done

  • Billboard should be removed from the review table as the source links to an article about an awards prediction, not an actual review.
  • Also link Leila Cobo

 Done

  • "The album earned a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Ranchero Album at the 11th Annual Latin Grammy Awards" what year?

 Done

  • "which went to Alejandro Fernández" you already used "which went" so change it to "but lost to"

 Done

Track listing

  • Removed the wikilink for "Estaré Contigo Cuando Triste Estés" as you already linked the English version

 Done

  • Not required, but after the first instance of a composer, you can just use their last name

 Done

Chart performance Looks fine here

Sales and certifications

  • Since you have actual sales figures for the album in the US, add the parameter "salesamount=(insert sales here)" and then the parameter "salesref=" and reuse the same reference you used for the sales before. That way, the table will display the actual sales instead of its shipment figures.

 Done

What I meant was, the article says it sold 112,00 copies. So change the sales amount to 112,000 copies. Erick (talk) 02:38, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

References

  • Please use a consistent date format for the article and references
  • Please do not capitalize all words in a title even if the source has the name of a title in all capital letter (avoid SHOUTING)

 Done

Misc

  • Remove the chart procession and succession as they are no longer accepted in Wikipedia since 2010

 Done

Just fix the above issues and it should be good to go for GAN. Erick (talk) 01:46, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You can use the {{done}} template to make it easier to see you did it. Erick (talk) 02:04, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Fundude99: There's still one issue you haven't addressed and that's the date format. In the prose and infobox, you use "month/day" format, but several of the references has the "day/month" format and in some cases "2015-04-09". Please use a consistent date for the dates and accessdates parameter (one that matches the article's date format). See MOS:DATEUNIFY Other than that, it looks ready.
