Security

They're not only used for labeling stuff so you know what is what. Tamper-proof stickers are also used for security. To prevent someone from opening something, example a computer case. They can say "Warranty void if seal is removed." or something like that. If you attempt to remove the sticker, it can be very difficult or it can print on the material "Voided!" after the sticker is removed.

Holographic

There are holographic stickers used for authentication and protection against counterfeit. They can be used on ID cards, credit cards, products such as CD's, etc.

Stickers that slowly turn transparent

I've seen/used stickers that turn transparent over a 12(?)-hour period, revealing red text saying "Expired" beneath. These stickers can be removed and replaced the next day. Is there a generalized name for this? Thanks! — Xoder| 19:23, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Neutrality!

I've taken down the anti-Bush sticker. It violates NPOV, it is in poor taste, and it is a poor representation. TheListUpdater 01:06, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

A new aspect of labeling

I would like to connect the term label to its use in society. We use labels everyday especially to communicate. It gives the members of each society clues on how to act within that society. In essence it is our role with in society but, in the end it is still a label! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lilmisssponge (talkcontribs) 21:09, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Labeling theory and Labelling are already linked from Label (disambiguation). --Geniac (talk) 02:50, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
