[edit]St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC has a Lady Chapel.

I think this article needs to be expanded. Surely there is a rich history behind Mary Chapels? --Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 15:50, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
- I agree. There must be a reason for the second chapel within the church, which is already a place of worship. I know basically nothing about churches, cathedrals, chapels, or Catholicism, but I can see that this could be a much more interesting article if someone who knew a little more about these things were to help out with this page. I think it could also use a redirect from "Ladies' Chapel," but I don't know how to add one. Some help here? Craeburn (talk) 19:45, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
- Just need to type "#REDIRECT Lady chapel" no quotes at the top of the page. But please only do so if you have searched per WP:CommonName that it means the same. History2007 (talk) 20:06, 13 December 2011 (UTC

[edit]- He didn't. Lady Chapel shouldn't redirect here: it is a name referring to specific places, not the general lower-case concept. — LlywelynII 10:59, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
- Who didn't what? This is a nonsense distinction. The other article should perhaps be turned into a list. I didn't realize Lady chapel existed when I de-disammed Lady Chapel, which is a list of WP church articles that mention a Lady chapel, however briefly. That is not a disam page, and is best treated as a list. Johnbod (talk) 20:47, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

- support merge Can't see any need for two article here. A list of notable chapels can be incorporated into it. If it did have to be a separate article, then it should be List of lady chapels anyway. Andy Dingley (talk) 21:24, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
- support merge "Lady Chapel" and "Lady chapel" is too fine a distinction. Consider WP:RF. I agree with Andy, have Lady chapel as an article with a suitable hat note, Lady Chapel as a redirect and List of Lady Chapels as a list. Martin of Sheffield (talk) 21:37, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, though it would fit as a section here too, as an alternative. Johnbod (talk) 02:30, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
- support merge I don't understand why two articles are necessary either. That said, whoever merges the articles should check for all the links that go to the old page as I piped a lot of links away from this page to the main page but now, once the merge is complete, those piped links can be removed and normal ones put in place.
