Halliburton

[edit]

The company has been the major innovator in software for the oil and gas exploration industry since 1983. It was the first to introduce 3-D seismic earth modelling systems, providing both the hardware and the software in the early days. This led to major improvements in the success rate for drilled wells. The company has since been bought by and merged into Halliburton. As of 2006 its software is still the overall market leader in the industry. -- Derek Ross | Talk 02:50, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to reverse the "merge" of this article. None of its significant information has made it into the Halliburton article. In fact that article doesn't even mention that Halliburton sells software. So anyone who wants to know about Landmark Graphics will learn nothing there. -- Derek Ross | Talk 06:07, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
