Puffery[edit]

And in the same vein, someone added press-release content today with such egregious non-encyclopedic tone as this: "The film depicts the epic love story between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. It was written by Peabody and Humanitas awards winner Christopher Monger (Temple Grandin) and directed by Lloyd Kramer (The Five People You Meet In Heaven)." In addition to everything else, this and a long-self-serving blockquote was WP:UNDUE, given the number of productions in the filmography. I found this shamefully promotional. --Tenebrae (talk) 16:22, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've just reverted an edit filled with several similar vios of WP:PUFFERY, WP:PEACOCK and WP:TONE, and likely WP:COI. It also appeared to bea copy-paste or a close paraphrasing of press-release/official-bio material. We don't write hagiographies with meaningless adjectives about his "next-generation" sort of company, or how he "guided the careers of over 200 celebrities." "Guided the careers of"? Managed. Also removal of cited content such as birth date. Too many such examples of this kind of thing to go and pick through. Shameless. --Tenebrae (talk) 08:38, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
