Pseudo-Lascaris
[edit]The great seal of Lascaris (depicted in this article) taken from this site http://www.new-byzantium.org/houseof.html is disputed. Here is an interesting article countering claims of the above-mentioned "House of Lascaris Comnenus". http://www.chivalricorders.org/royalty/fantasy/lascaris.htm. Λάσκαρης late proununciation
[edit]is erroneous: stress is on third to last syllable and the last vocal is long (for Greek phonetic laws stress on the fourth to last mora stress is permitted only). Ardashir (talk) 20:23, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
Laskaris as Peasants?
[edit]I don't get how the issue of the early Laskarids being peasants can relate to the name being from Persian "lashkari" (which yes, has the meaning of 'soldier'). In the medieval period, this was just a name, like this guy: Lashkari b. Muhammad the Shaddadi. ArsHistorica (talk) 20:23, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
