The page has been created but lacks expert content. Also, a better Brunton-related image would be welcome. -- Astrochemist 20:33, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I added a copyright-free picture of Brunton. Can something better be found? - Astrochemist 03:10, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One of the (Lauder) Brunton Baronets was quite a prominent convert to Islam in his late life. Anyone know which one it was? I'm suspecting it was this one... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kneeslasher (talkcontribs) 14:55, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

there is no evidence that he did. It seems that was his son.
The two references in the current article refer to a Brunton who went to Oxford and was a barrister,. So I'm changing it. Yesihavereadit (talk) 06:48, 19 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thomas Lauder Brunton Wikipedia

[edit]

I am the great grandson of TL Brunton Bart, and am very angry with the false impression given by Wiki that he converted to Islam. It was his son (James) Stopford Lauder Brunton the second baronet who did so. If you contact the author of your reference 6 you can confirm this. Also please contact Penny Hunting who wrote an article in 1916 in a pay for play journal something like the journal of medical biography in about 2016. I note in the discussion that someone ? Kneeslasher? Wondered which Brunton Baronet converted. I have nothing against Islam but do favour truth on such a high profile platform as Wikipedia. I would appreciate it if someone could help me correct this problem. Please just email me at jameslbrunton@me.com. My handle on wiki is Roxburghlauder (approximately) Roxburghlauder (talk) 00:50, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

if you read ref 5 it doesn't say which baronet converted , it doesn't have any names or dates. It does say that the converting baronet went to Oxford, whereas this article states TL went to Edinburgh. Yesihavereadit (talk) 06:12, 19 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thomas Lauder Brunton Wikipedia

[edit]

Penny Hunting wrote the biography in 2016 not 1916 which was the year of his death. Roxburghlauder (talk) 01:22, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Did he convert to Islam?

[edit]

quite simply. NO. That was a later Lauder Brunton a barrister in the 1920s.
