Category duplication
[edit]At the time of writing this page has Category links with identical content. A proposal to delete categories relating to the GAA that use "Londonderry" (the name of the former administrative county) rather than "Derry" (the name of the GAA county) is under discussion. If you wish to contribute, follow the link from the "Londonderry" category. Brocach (talk) 18:10, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
Leamhaigh CLG
[edit]Using Google there is only one result for "CLG Leamhaigh" and 439 for "Leamhaigh CLG". The single result for "CLG Leamhaigh" actually in the browser reads:
Lavey GAA | Leamhaigh CLG
Leamhaigh CLG
Hence why Google showed it up under "CLG Leamhaigh" as it ignored the breakspace.
Brocach may say that the club have their own name wrong on their website, however as it the club that knows it's own name better than anybody else and with no sources for his stance other than allegedly having better Irish grammer, I'd safely bet that that is how they spell it with the results we have. - No apostrophe in the possessive "it's", Mabuska, and if you feel the need to publicise your ignorance of English grammar (no "e", BTW) in English-language Wikipedia we are entitled to question your credentials in relation to Irish grammar and spelling. For any [Placename in English Gaelic Athletic Club] the Irish version will be [Cumann Lúthchleas Gael <followed by> genitive form of Placename in Irish]. It is simply incorrect to refer to X Gaelic Athletic Club as X Cumann Lúthchleas Gael. The frequency of mistakes in spelling or grammar, on any website in any language, do not justify the use of wrong forms in Wikipedia, which is meant to be a work of reference. Brocach (talk) 23:16, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
- Wheres your source? Oh wait you have none, I do. What does Wikipedia work on? If you provided some sources then the issue would be sorted but until then, we have to abide by the ones we have whether you deem them correct or not. Mabuska (talk) 22:27, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
