Infobox

[edit]

I have re-added a simplified version of the infobox and copyedited the lead. I created this article, and am one of its major editors. At the time, we had no suitable infobox for operas, although one has since been developed by Wikiproject Opera and is now used in over 350 articles on individual operas. A relevant image from the opera is appropriate and an improvement. The basic facts at a glance, are helpful to the reader, and certainly not detrimental to the article. The navigation to Donizetti's other works already appears at the bottom of the page, the standard location for such navigation bars, and does not need to be repeated at the top of the page. Note that my edits changed the image in the original infobox added by another editor. The original one was of Giuditta Pasta, who did not sing in that opera and in fact died long before the premiere. Note also that the date of the premiere was also wrong in the original infobox and I've corrected that too. In future when adding infoboxes, please check scrupulously for accuracy.
