Fair use rationale for Image:Lethal Weapon 4 Poster.jpg

[edit]

Image:Lethal Weapon 4 Poster.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Jet Li

[edit]

This was not Jet Li's first American film. It was his first successful American film. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.46.212.56 (talk) 07:48, 5 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The above claim makes no sense. I resisted responding before because it is so wrong I did not think it needed explanation, but maybe it does. I also would like to see this Lethal Weapon 4 article improved to include the details of Li's casting (mentioned in his biographical article but not properly source there either) that he did not want to play a villain in an American film and was only convinced to do so on the promise of the lead role in Romeo Must Die.
Perhaps the above commenter misunderstood the difference between films released in America and films made by American production companies. It is possible the comment is an oblique reference to Once Upon a Time in China and America which was shot in Texas, but again it is the Hong Kong production company not the shooting location that defines the film nationality.
Lethal Weapon 4 was Jet Li's "American debut".[1] Anyone how thinks otherwise should show some reliable sources to back up their claims. -- 109.79.79.189 (talk) 05:13, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
