Lincoln's eulogy
[edit]The eulogy Dowling gave for president Lincoln in Illinois may be notable if it was given in Springfield when Lincoln was buried there or if it was to a significant gathering of Union soldiers at that time. I don't know if the eulogy previously in the article was such an event or not but I thought I'd bring it here to allow discussion if it is of interest. It was removed in this edit. I am not objecting to the edit just opening a discussion. - - MrBill3 (talk) 23:53, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
- From what I can see, there's no suggestion that this was at Lincoln's burial - I imagine the archivist who wrote this up would have mentioned anything so significant. I think Dowling just spoke at a memorial service. I can't see it as notable without more evidence / detail. --Rbreen (talk) 02:33, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
