"Colorized"?[edit]

I think there's a long-running misunderstanding about the production of this show. Animation historian Jerry Beck has said in at least one place[1] (see the comments) that Linus the Lionhearted was produced in full color, not "colorized" after production.

"The Linus The Lionhearted show WAS produced in color. There were several reasons black and white 16mm negs (and prints) were made – won’t go into that explanation here – but the show was broadcast off 35mm Color prints at the time, even though black and white television was still predominant in the mid 1960s."

In another comment he adds that even if cartoons were still airing in black-and-white on some US networks, the last American cartoon series produced in b&w was probably Tom Terrific in 1957-59.

I'm throwing this out on the talk page because I don't know if a message in a comment thread would satisfy the "citation needed" requirements, but this feels like one of those things that needs work. Enwilson (talk) 14:13, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
