Region field

I notice that many items are known in a particular region that extends beyond country borders. Should we use only north east south west Africa? Adding countries with commas in between loses the benefit of the sortability. How about the main country it's known in, with a statement in the lede saying most dishes extend further that borders? Opinions please? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 04:22, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

Another plan: Change the title of the field to "Origin", list only one nation, and say in the lede that it extends beyond borders. I might just go ahead in that direction. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 04:25, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

Middle East

I noticed this article references dishes from the middle east, which is a region of Asia, right? I believe the red sea marks the north eastern limit of Africa. 21:52, 22 November 2014‎ 81.220.128.86

Could you specify which? Maybe they originated in the Middle East, but are now considered part of African cuisine. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 22:16, 22 November 2014 (UTC)

origin dishes Maghreb

Dear wiki users,

I noticed that 2 dishes were wrongly claimed to be Berber in origin. The original wikipedia pages are already up to date, and the information on this page does not match with the other pages like "bastilla" and "msemen". For this reason I edited the information on these two dishes user: Kansas Bear. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alhaqiha (talkcontribs) 10:20, 27 June 2016 (UTC)

And yet you have not proven these 2 dishes are not of Berber origin. Along with removing the sources for them. What is even more interesting is that the main article, Msemen, which has two sources that do not appear to be any more reliable than the sources you removed from this article. Strange how your "concern" for "up to date" information has not drawn you to those pages. --Kansas Bear (talk) 19:36, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
