Giants-Vikings rescheduled game
[edit]I don't believe this should be included here. The article is "Monday Night Football" results (1990-present), not Results of NFL games played on Monday night (1990-present). It's only supposed to include games played under the "Monday Night Football" brand. The Bears-Dolphins game from 1997 and the Giants-Saints game from 2005 were shown on ABC and presented as Monday Night Football matchups. The Giants-Vikings was presented as just another regional Fox telecast, as it would have been if it was played as regularly scheduled.
The argument that it was played on Monday and thus warrants inclusion doesn't hold water, in my opinion. Otherwise, the Eagles-Cowboys Christmas day game from 2006 would be included here since Christmas fell on a Monday that year. But it's not because it was an NBC game, and is thus included in the NBC Sunday Night Football results (2006-present) article, though it wasn't played on a Sunday. Also, there were other "special" broadcasts on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and even Sunday nights during the 70's and 80's (and even through the last few years) that were televised on ABC as part of the Monday night package, and should reasonably be included in this article and Monday Night Football results (1970-1989).--Highway99 (talk) 16:30, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
- I disagree, it should be included. Someone even created a list of Monday night National Football League games prior to 1970. That list includes non-NFL games, non-televised games. Some of those games probably didn't happen on Monday Night, but they're there. The title of this article Monday Night Football results (1990 to present), not Monday Night Football broadcast results (1990-present). --Þadius (talk) 18:33, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
- Well, if there are games on that list that weren't actually played on Monday night, then they should be removed since that's clearly supposed to be a list of any games played on a Monday prior to 1970. What I'm saying is that this list is not the same as the pre-1970 list. Maybe the title doesn't say "broadcast" in it, but that's essentially what it is. It's really no different than any other list of episodes for a television series; the only difference is instead of scripted shows being listed, it's football games. Which is why, as I said, it's not supposed to include every game that happened to be played on a Monday, if those games weren't carried on ABC/ESPN as part of their Monday Night Football package. --Highway99 (talk) 05:32, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Proposed page move
[edit]Per WP:NCLL, I propose that this page be moved from Monday Night Football results (1990–2009) to List of Monday Night Football results (1990–2009). Just checking if there are any objections before I make the move. Thanks.--Jameboy (talk) 23:41, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
- No objections after one month. Moving. --Jameboy (talk) 18:08, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Significance
[edit]What is the significance of listing games played on a Monday, compared to those played on a Sunday? Just curious. --Jameboy (talk) 14:33, 20 September 2017 (UTC)
