All episode information (except for prod codes and airdates) is available at the http://shaunthesheep.com website. --Lexein 15:58, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have watched Shaun on German television. The epsiodes are not shown in the original sequence. I tried to match the German titles to the original titles, but about half the episodes shown in Germany (five per week) do not appear in this list. Does anybody have an idea where these "unlisted" episodes come from? 172.181.235.20 06:24, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I had offered on Talk:Shaun the Sheep#Other countries to supply you with detailed information about the six new episodes broadcast on German KI.KA. Now I have added the titles to the bottom of the list. Feel free to correct any spelling mistakes ... ;o) Regards, Sven H. 84.44.155.80 15:27, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The BBC are showing a new batch of episodes over the next few weeks. I think these have not been aired in the UK before. They appear to be the episodes mentioned from germany, plus others. The 'alternative names' (e.g. "Heavy Metal Shaun" are the episoed names quoted in british TV listings. I edited a couple of dates since some on the BBC are showing earlier than the Australian listings given previously —Preceding unsigned comment added by AnnuverScotinExile (talkcontribs) 15:10, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This page as well as the main shaun the the sheep page is erroneous, there have been only 2 series made as of november 2009, see:[ http://www.shaunthesheep.com/forum/]. What is referred to as series 3 on this page is actually series 2 according to Aardman. Series 1 had 40 episodes, shown with a break between the 1st 20 eps and the 2nd 20. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jpeaton (talkcontribs) 23:12, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you're quite right. Good pick-up. (moved to bottom for clarity) GedUK  08:32, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Series 2 Part 2

[edit]

The airdates for the upcoming series 2 episodes are incorrect. "Get Out of the Cold" did not air on the 27 March 2010. I even checked on the TV guide to be correct. MJF2000 (Talk)

Republication with attribution is apparently granted without restriction, on the (now archived) fankit page: "Get episode guides, character bios, interviews and any production notes to help you write info on the show", still freely downloadable from the http://www.shaunthesheep.com website. The COPYVIO tag isn't really appropriate here. It is my belief that quoting any alleged copyvio material, in quotation marks, while citing the source (shaunthesheep.com) is the best course. --Lexein (talk) 19:16, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK. I hadn't realised that this was the same material. I would be happier if they were a bit more explicit about the terms of the implied licence to use their text but it seems to cover us. I still think it is better if we rewrite it ourselves as their text is promotional and not in encyclopaedic style but that it a separate issue from copyvio. I will take the tag off. --DanielRigal (talk) 19:44, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed about explicitness, esp. since the original apparent permission does not now appear to be on the current website. Also, agreed about style/tone - this was an old problem with the Shaun the Sheep main article, which has been shepherded (con permiso) to its current relatively neutral tone. If copyvio of Aardman press release material is the actual concern, more careful paraphrasing or even quoting w/citation should address the issue, I hope. And thanks for the removal and AGF. --Lexein (talk) 20:01, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Followup: over forty summaries had been copy/pasted from the BBC and Aardman without the slightest effort at attribution. Now,

  • Summaries for Season 1: Part 1 are all paraphrased and copyedited for tone, with http://ShauntheSheep.com/text.zip cited for comparison.
  • Summaries for Season 1: Part 2 are in progress.
  • Summaries for Season 2 are either "zero-match" paraphrased or quoted, and all are cited: BBC Press releases or OVGuide.com.

This avoids WP:Original research and avoids WP:Copyright violations. I still think episode summaries should have a bit of subdued fun, so I left some in. --Lexein (talk) 23:55, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Number of episodes in the fourth series

[edit]

So far, only thirty episodes have been broadcast from the fourth series. However, if you look up the programme listings on the BBC homepage (e.g. http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/programmes/schedules/2014/02/03), all episodes from the fourth series are listed as X/40, indicating there are forty episodes in total. So which number should be used in the article? JanTH (talk) 21:36, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The TOC links to the various seasons episodes lists doesn't work for seasons 2 and 3. I checked with other series' episodes lists and TOC, and the Wikipedia code doesn't look the same. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to fix it without starting from scratch, so I am simply reporting the issue, which may have something to do with the hyphenated year ranges for the erroneous links.
