Need for this article as "stand alone"[edit]

At the moment, the The VFL during the World Wars has become rather overwhelmed by what now constitutes this article -- a list of ever-increasing length. Removing that list to here allows the original article to keep on track, and also, this separate article, allows the information to be more accessible. Great article[edit]

But the references seem a bit redundant - clearly the book includes them all, can't you just reference them once? ROxBo (talk) 20:26, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There are now (April 2021) quite a number of former players listed whose details were not included in the book in question.Lindsay658 (talk) 04:03, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
