I'm puzzled at how this list was compiled. Yes, many of these bands are commonly considered as playing "acid rock". Yes, each band has one or more citations to verify it has been categorized as an "acid rock band" -- at least at one point in their career. (Early Grateful Dead is a sound very different than the band's later years.) However, there is no clue why the authorities cited are considered authorities, or why they put the band in that category. "Acid rock" is one of those labels that has been thrown around & misused to the point it doesn't present a clear idea of what it applies to. Jerry Garcia's comment quoted in acid rock that acid rock is music one listens to when doing acid is worth keeping in mind; I've known people to listen to Beethoven's Ninth while doing acid. Some kind of explanation along these lines would be very useful. -- llywrch (talk) 21:51, 27 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This article supplements Acid rock; it's not intended to stand on its own.--Ilovetopaint (talk) 05:27, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Still, a paragraph explaining how these bands were picked would be helpful. -- llywrch (talk) 16:54, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure Wikipedia articles are supposed to reference WP:RS.--Ilovetopaint (talk) 21:35, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
