Date of Introduction[edit]

The table for sitting bishops who aren't in one of the five privileged sees need their dates of introduction added as an extra column. This means splitting the table into either:

  • the four parts it currently has, or
  • two parts, (ex-Officio, and the rest) in which the "Date of Introduction" column contains the date for sitting bishops, awaiting introduction or blank for the remainder.

Correction of error about Provincial Episcopal Visitors[edit]

Hello, I noticed an inconsistency in this article, but as I'm new to Wiki editing, I didn't have the confidence to correct it myself. So I'm reporting it in the hope that someone more experienced than myself will be able to correct it.

Under the heading 'House of Bishops' the paragraph commencing 'The four provincial episcopal visitors ...' refers to only four bishops, namely Richborough, Ebbsfleet, Maidstone, and Beverley. But the list of Suffragan Bishops immediately above has five occurrences of the abbreviation 'AEO' - the four I've listed, and also Fulham, and so does the list of bishops in the linked article Provincial Episcopal Visitor. Should Fulham therefore be included in the list of bishops who can attend and speak in the House of Bishops? I don't know whether on not he can do this, but perhaps it could be investigated. Hope I'm being helpful here. MrPrune (talk) 19:58, 21 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I can see why you'd think that, but the Bishop of Fulham is a suffragan of London who acts locally like a PEV, but isn't. DBD 16:24, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Order of "Other diocesan bishops"[edit]

Why is the the Bishop of Bristol at 27? Her confirmation of election date would make her the most junior diocesan bishop. Surely the Lords Spiritual (Women) Act 2015 only applies to who takes the next seat in the Lords and not to the seniority of the other diocesan bishops? Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk 13:23, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Because they are ordered by their proximity to that next seat in the Lords... Which is Viv's when it comes. DBD 16:23, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That criterion isn't stated anywhere in the article, and is inconsistent with Lambeth's position at the top of that table, although he is ineligible to ever become a Lord in that position. I'd prefer to keep the "Other diocesan bishops" ordered strictly by seniority, in line with the positioning of Lambeth and Sodor and Man. It's enough to have the footnote for female bishops that they will be accelerated. --141.100.201.16 (talk) 15:42, 24 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Acting Bishop of Norwich?[edit]

Why does this article still show an acting Bishop of Norwich? There's a real one now! Mdrb55 (talk) 14:31, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Postponed Consecrations[edit]

I assume Hugh Nelson wasn't consecrated on June, so he should be listed as 'consecration postponed' like the others. Mdrb55 (talk) 21:03, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Participant Observers[edit]

Some explanation of 'participant observers' should be included in the 'House of Bishops' section before talking about its replacement.

See the 'House of Bishops' article. Mdrb55 (talk) 08:42, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Consécration of suffragans on Monday 21/9/20[edit]

CNC meetings[edit]

The future meeting for Portsmouth is in a list labelled 'past'. The first paragraph says that no meetings have been scheduled. Needs sorting. Mdrb55 (talk) 21:56, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Acting diocesan bishops[edit]

This ought to include the Bishop of Warrington as acting Bishop of Liverpool.

Not sure about the Bishop of Ely as acting Bishop of Lincoln - he is already a diocesan Bishop. Mdrb55 (talk) 15:15, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
