Bridges in Bismarck/Mandan, ND[edit]

The list of bridges spanning the Missouri in Bismarck/Mandan from north to south are as follows:

Grant Marsh (I-94) Bridge

BNSF rail bridge

Liberty Memorial (Not part of I-94, but I think its part of the unamed I-194 branch in the area). This bridge is currenty scheduled to be replaced in 2007. Construction has started on the banks of Bismarck and Mandan for the new bridge.

Expressway Bridge (again, not technically part of I-94, but breaks off of I-94 and heads into south Bismarck).

Anyone with better editing skills, feel free to update the article.

Pony Express Bridge(s)[edit]

I'm not quite sure what to do about the proper name for the Pony Express Bridge. Official signage on the bridge refers to it as "Pony Express Bridges" (plural) because there are separate bridges for east and west bound traffic. The bridge it replaced was the Pony Express Bridge (singular) and so common usage is to refer to it by the singular name. Any suggestions? Thanks. Americasroof 17:33, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Demolished bridges?[edit]

I really like this article. Thanks for starting it. Before it gets too far out of hand, we should probably get our hands around the demolished issue. I just added an entry for the Nebraska City Bridge which makes reference to two prior bridges. A lot of these bridges are second and third generation at least. Vermillion-Newcastle Bridge[edit]

It looks like that is the name of the bridge south of Vermillion, SD, at least by doing random web searching. I drove over it once, and don't recall if that had an official name, so until there is proof it does, I changed it to Vermillion-Newcastle Bridge. DandyDan2007 09:27, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dams[edit]

Hey y'all. I'm working on completing bridges and crossings up through Montana to Three Forks. I've added dams, and ferries, because although not bridges, they certainly are "crossings" of the Missouri, and at very least are significant landmarks on ascending the river. Any comments / concerns?

Thanks. Irishbugs 14:35, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Done![edit]

So the list is done! How do we remove the "incomplete list" tag?

Irishbugs 21:13, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the list isn't entirely done. Many crossings still need the location filled into the table. But, good work on completing the Montana crossings. VerruckteDan 01:38, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nebraska City Bridges[edit]

According to the Nebraska City Bridge, article, there were two previous bridges in the area, but I don't know in what order they were in in relation to the current one. Also, according to Delorme's Nebraska Atlas and Gazeteer, there should also be an abandoned railroad bridge there as well. DandyDan2007 22:16, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Railroad Bridges[edit]

I have a summary of past and present Missouri River railroad bridges on the Trains.com site. It may be of help adding to this list. http://www.trains.com/TRC/CS/forums/1173753/ShowPost.aspx Qualicum 20:59, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chouteau Freeway Bridge[edit]

The bridge is called the Chouteau Bridge. It carries a road called the Choteau Trafficway. There is no Choteau Freeway — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.70.156.113 (talk) 16:58, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Add mileage column to table[edit]

Add official mile marker mileage. The markers are on government maps. Yes, 0 is at the confluence of the Mississippi. Jidanni (talk) 23:34, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
