Feel free to expand and fill in the information. --Kslotte (talk) 22:38, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Table view suggestion

[edit]

How about making this list into a table with sortable columns? See for example List of animal names. Columns might include country, championships, event type(s). --Una Smith (talk) 14:34, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

One step at a time, it can be expanded. I was thinking about it but didn't find the information very sortable, exceptions are name and country. I was thinking of implementing the second one (by country: List of orienteers by country) since it is quite easy to accomplish. Finding orienteers based on championships and events can be found from the event specific articles. --Kslotte (talk) 15:11, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Further technical developement

[edit]
  • Some type of that automatically fill in the new orienteers. Someone could make some research on that area, if you have technical skills like Python and Bot making. Maybe someone has already made a suitable tool or a tool can be modified for this specific needs. Note that such tool could be used to maintain all type of lists. --Kslotte (talk) 08:23, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Maybe the Releted Changes Tool con developed to match our needs better to only list new articles in a category. This could also be used by other projects. Technical programming skills is needed, especially PHP. I think it is possible to get source code by asking Erwin85 about it. --Kslotte (talk) 08:28, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
