Notability
[edit]Earlier today, I added Matt Nieto to the list and he was almost immediately removed for being "un-notable". I'm here to contest this. This is his third season in the NHL and he is consistently part of the Sharks' lineup. More than this, the fact that he's from Long Beach is consistently brought up, not only by local San Jose Sharks broadcasters but by national broadcasters when Sharks games are televised nationally. It's even something of a joke[1] among hockey fans that the fact he's from Long Beach will inevitably come up. If the LA Times thinks he's worthy of an inane headline about how he prefers burgers[2], something that is not at all related to his professional career, I think that means he's notable enough to merit being buried in an obscure Wikipedia list. I've added him back in. - (talk) 02:14, 13 February 2016 (UTC)Sakanaya

Changing the layout and adding citations
[edit]I was looking at this list and comparing it with the list of people from San Pedro and realized how much the Long Beach one needs work. I will try to add citations to each of the people on this list and add specificity as to what each person's relation to Long Beach is (whether they were born in the city, grew up in the city, or lived in Long Beach for only a brief moment of their life). THIS LIST ALSO GOTTA BE ALPHABETIZED. Mutantaxolotl (talk) 05:32, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
