Famous people

[edit]

More of a description of the famous persons needed, why are they famous? - 68.170.137.10 13:56, 26 November 2005

I disagree with the removal of famous residents on the grounds that they do not have a Wikipedia page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Matt Lepore (talkcontribs) 18:12, April 20, 2020 (UTC)
There needs to be a standard that editors can use which would ensure that people on the list are actually notable; i.e. not just that one editor somewhere felt they were important. While it is not a hard and fast rule, requesting that a person have an article before being listed here means that their possible notability has met specific objective criteria, the most important being mention in trustworthy publications of greater significance than merely within the town or the region. See WP:General notability guideline. --Ken Gallager (talk) 19:30, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Shortcomings

[edit]

I think more information is needed about the shortcomings of Litchfield, perhaps how Darah Pond is being drained by Nashua, although I am unsure of this information, making posting about it less than a good idea. - Shaymus22 12:59, 15 January 2006

Road repair

[edit]

The following was recently added to the local issues section: "Recently, the town's major road, Alberquerque, is under repair. There is debate whether the recent failure of a town budget increase is adding to the delay of the rebuilding." There are several problems with this, so I deleted it. The name is spelled wrong, and presumably refers to Albuquerque Ave. Calling Albuquerque Ave., rather than Route 3A, "the town's major road" seems like quite a stretch to me. And I find it hard to see how the repair of a single road is enough of a defining issue to justify inclusion in a Wikipedia article.

But I'm from across the Merimack. If it really is a central issue to the character of Litchfield and someone can fix the problem, it can always be put back in a revised form.

Eroneauos Reversion

[edit]

People should not revert this article based on their own whim. The addition to the page is documented. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.232.138.141 (talk) 20:44, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

a) Please sign your comments using four tildes (~~~~).
b) Creating an account wouldn't hurt. Like many people, I'm automatically suspicious of information provided by an anonymous user.
c) Please provide the documentation you mentioned for the bestiality claim - I find nothing on the internet.
d) The whole section seems out of place for me and not suited to an encyclopedia. Perhaps it should be on Wikinews New Hampshire?

Last paragraph

[edit]

As the Wiki is not allowing me to edit this article, can please someone edit the last paragraph so that it reads thusly?

"The Litchfield Mosquito Control District was featured on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. The episode featured segments from a televised town meeting from September 17, 2015, which had no members of the public in attendance."
