Grammar School

[edit]

The painting shown above, by Augustus Hare (1834-1903) is titled Little Thurlow – Grammar School of Sir John Soane, and yet there is no mention of John Soane, or a grammar school, in the article. Can anyone elaborate, please? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 12:33, 7 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Pigsonthewing: Based on this, it appears there was one in the village, which was founded as a result of a legacy from Soane's will. Number 57 15:05, 7 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Duly added; thank you. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:32, 8 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Number 57: On re-reading your soruce, it refers to "Sir S. Soame", not "John Soane". Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:54, 8 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
