Liverpool 1 (TV series) → Liverpool 1 – The only other topic for Liverpool 1 is the postal district, but since that's not an article, then the disambiguator can be removed. WP:SMALLDETAILS applies so Liverpool 1 is the TV series while Liverpool One is the shopping area with hatnotes on both pages linking to the other. The disambiguation page, Liverpool 1, can safely be deleted. JuniperChill (talk) 19:00, 28 July 2024 (UTC)
- Weak oppose the shopping area has 779 views compared with 842 for the TV series and L postcode area has 3,876[[1]]. The 1st Google result for "Liverpool 1" (without quotes) is the shopping area and most other results appear to be for the shopping area which probably has more long-term significance than the TV series. I'm not sure if "1" and "One" are distingishable per WP:SMALLDETAILS as they are the same thing and either could be searched either way. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:00, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
- The thing with WP:SMALLDETAILS is that something that is almost the same can have totally different content. For example, if I am looking for Ice Cube, I often search ice cube (as I normally search all in lowercase) and the hatnote will direct me to the rapper if I typed it wrong. Same with 4th of July not redirecting to July 4, along with coral island and Coral Island (disambiguation). Therefore its plausible that someone would type Liverpool 1 looking for the shopping complex and vice versa. JuniperChill (talk) 08:35, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. For clarity, best left as is. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:00, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
- But there are no other articles with the exact name, hence why small details apply. See my previous comment for why. JuniperChill (talk) 15:44, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
- Liverpool One adds very clear ambiguity (note their logo!). SMALLDETAILS is highly controversial and ambiguous and has failed to move contributors in many RM discussions. Disambiguation is there to help our users. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:15, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- Given as noted the logo of the shopping area using the number rather than the letter and the fact "1" and "One" are probably interchangable to most non experts of both things I have doubts (though am not completely unconvinced) that SMALLDETAILS applies. I think with Ice cube v Ice Cube the generic meaning is primary by long-term significance for the lower case while the rapper is primary for people bothering to capitalize.
