This article cites a comedian (who does not cite anyone in the linked article). This is not good enough. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.165.144.243 (talk) 07:20, 29 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. Tudur Owen claims that "some guidebooks" refer to it as Lake Australia, and I have certainly heard people casually referring to it as such, but I can't find any evidence of any actual written guidebook that refers to the lake by that name. Happy to be corrected on this if someone can prove me wrong. Figaro-ahp (talk) 13:10, 29 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The 1st link to Snowdonia Guide an online travel guide uses the name, as does Walking Britain and Outdoor Adventure Guide:
https://www.walkingbritain.co.uk/walk-photo-108802
http://www.outdooradventureguide.co.uk/five-of-the-best-mountain-lakes/
None of these exclusively refer to the lake by one name only, but that I think the Tudur Owen article is careful not to say that. That said, he does specifically refer to "some guidebooks" though suggesting a number of printed travel guides, none of which I have yet to find.

Name and controversy

[edit]

The main focus of this article seems to be the Lake Australia name change, as such I have created the section "Name and controversy" leaving the remaining paragraph (a geographic description) as the summary. It's obviously an emotive issue and some of the writing was far from encyclopaedic, sentences like "in no way, does it look like Australia" (which I have to agree with!) have no place here. However, as the name change is part of an ongoing and nation wide discussion on name changes I believe it is worth keeping. Cymrogogoch (talk) 10:40, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Map reference

[edit]

The map reference seems to be wrong. Clicking through, it brings me to a point on Google Maps and Bing Maps which is almost a kilometer south-south-east of the lake. I think 53.11390738150558 N, 4.011409870604103 W would be exact, but it would be good if someone with mapping expertise would check that there is not something else going wrong that I'm not aware of.
