Corribee class sailing boats

[edit]

Mallon Boats built a Robert Tucker designed boat on the banks of Lough Corrib, which gave the boat her name: "Corribee". The design went on to become a whole class of fairly popular boats known by the same name, Corribee and is renowned for its seakeeping. Rather than charge in and shoe-horn it into the article now I thought I'd mention it here to see if any of the existing editors felt it worth a mention on the article. I'm one of the editors on the Corribee article which you may want to read for some more info. If there's been no objection by the time I find some free time I may well work something into the Lough Corrib article, but I'd rather leave it for those who are already involved in it. Cheers. Source for name?

[edit]

Does someone have a source for the association between the name Orbsiu Mac Alloid and Manannán Mac Lir? I have been trying to learn more about Manannán and looking for references on him. I'm curious to learn more about the Orbsiu name, but I haven't found any reference to it beside linking it to the lough (many sites use language identical to this article). Some travel books I have make this same association, but also do not provide any further information. I have not been able to find a reference to this name in any folklore and mythology reference about Manannán. Thanks Collinxvii (talk) 21:02, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hen's Castle Photo

[edit]

Could we have a suitably-licensed photo of Hen's Castle, please? The description is evocative, but it's obviously a noteworthy historical building and an important feature of the lough, and the article doesn't have too many photos. It sounds as though it might warrant an article of its own, especially given the number of other articles that refer to it. There are plently of secondary sources on it, its history, its mythology, its construction, etc.. 92.20.31.11 (talk) 07:52, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
