Notability question? See these multiple book references [1], clearly notable. SaltyBoatr (talk) 20:48, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There are numerous references to Louise Caselotti on the Internet, especially at www.google.com. I have even found a photograph of Caselotti with Maria Callas, as well as a reproduction of a color painting of Caselotti by one of her former students. I doubt if there is a biography of Caselotti, but there certainly is good reason to have a biographical sketch of Maria Callas' first American vocal coach (1946-47). I learned quite a bit about Callas from Caselotti when I met her at a party in early 1976 and even sang for her in a private lesson. I was able to hear Gordon Getty sing and, quite frankly, he had a pleasant baritone voice, but clearly not a great voice. His professional debut, which apparently took place with the Marin Opera in California, was panned by the local critics. He focused on composing after that and was considerably more successful. Wikipedia already had an article about Louise Caselotti's sister, Adriana, who was the voice of Snow White in the Walt Disney 1937 animated feature. Referencing Issues[edit]

"Eyewitness account by Robert E. Nylund" - Who is Robert E. Nylund, and what is the source of this account? If the article's creator is Robert E. Nylund, please note that your account does not meet Wikipedia standards as a reference, unless it has been independently published.

"angelfire.com/ab/day/aug22.htm" - This is not an live link and when typed into the address bar produces a 404 or Not Found error message

The article needs considerably more references than these to verify the claims made. If indeed there are "numerous references to Louise Caselotti" on the Internet from reliable and verifiable sources, then it is necessary to provide them as soon as possible. This is an ongoing project. I plan to add references in the near future. Although I met Louise Caselotti twice, including a private lesson with her, I did not take any photos of her. I really regret that I did not photos of the Sausalito party in February 1976, in which Caselotti accompanied Gordon Getty, as well as some of her other voice students. I am a regular contributor to Wikipedia and, as can be found in my biography, have worked in journalism both in California and Indiana, as well as participating in a variety of musical organizations over the years.72.37.171.52 (talk) 19:41, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
