[edit]

Is the Marillon reference notable for purposes of this article? I'm not trying to say, "I've never heard of them so obviously they're not notable," but lots of rock songs reference lots of other rock songs, particularly those by popular and influential bands like The Who. I gotta say this seems rather trivial, especially considering that it's only "almost" (but not entirely) "certain" that the lyric is actually a reference to this song. I'll give it a day or two for someone to defend.75.139.32.246 05:03, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Length of Song

[edit]

This article says 3:07. The version I have is in excess of 5 minutes. Maybe 3:07 is a radio edit? Not sure about wikipolicy on stuff like that, so if anyone wants to research what the real length of time is, thatd be fantastic. Oggleboppiter 14:38, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:PJ-LROM.jpg

[edit]

Image:PJ-LROM.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Often mislabed

[edit]

Somebody should add that it's often mislabed as "Love, Reign Over Me" and "Reign On Me". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.244.187.101 (talk) 06:00, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

2008 Cover

[edit]

I added a section about Heart covering the song during their 2008 tour with Journey and Cheap Trick. I noticed there was an entire section devoted to a different cover, so I figured this small addition would be ok to mention. Gpia7r (talk) 18:15, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The difference is that Pearl Jam's version was released as a commercial single. The Heart version wasn't released on any album or even as a single. Every live cover version of the song doesn't need its own section.-5- (talk) 18:55, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Mr. 5 above, and have removed the section. Jgm (talk) 19:14, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough! Thanks for the feedback. Gpia7r (talk) 13:37, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Love, Reign o'er MeLove, Reign O'er Me – O'er means Over, why should it be small? "the" in a title can be small, but not "Over". E-Kartoffel (talk) 11:52, 17 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Genre

[edit]

The song is part of Quadrophenia, a progressive rock and rock opera album, so Love, Reign o'er Me is also a prog rock song, because of its lyrics and instruments, and this song have hard rock guitars too.
