Significance of Book Title in Movie[edit]

It's poignant and important to include the name of the book that the male Itsuki gave the female Itsuki when he was leaving their northern town, and he knew he would never see her again. In Japanese translation, Proust's book is called In Remembrance of Things Lost. It was also on this book's library card that he drew her likeness, which she found ten years later.
