Catalan?

[edit]

Just looking at the latest edit by Marysunshine, "rv - source for derog statement, please". Now correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't being born in the town of Badalona in Catalonia enough to make one a Catalan? aLii 22:24, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Clearing up some text

[edit]

I've removed the part that says 'Luis Garcia is a Spanish/Catalan football player'. It's redundant (previously it's said he's from Catalonia) and, futhermore, it's not a very correct way of speaking. I'm aware of how proud people from Catalonia can be wishing to make it clear where they're from, but so are people from Madrid for example and we don't say someone is a 'Madrileño/Spanish football player'. Until Catalonia is a separate state of its own, like it or not, their people are Spanish. I don't know if there's someone here opposed to the change in the text? It's just for the sake of clarity, mind you. Raystorm, May 15 2006, 23:14h

I don't think it is the end of the world to remove the Spanish/Catalonia thing but if he declares himself Catalonian (no idea if he does) then it would make sense to keep it. Otherwise I agree, it is hardly the place for adding regional-information (unless he played for a club in the region and thus it would make him local and add to the story). As always just my humble opinion. ny156uk 17:07, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Height

[edit]

Could someone look into this? I'll certainly do a bit of research on my own, but I think it's worth noting that there's conflicting information in this post regarding Garcia's height. In the box on the right, it lists his height as 5'7", but later states after the "Luis Garcia Song" that he is actually 5'6". 24.206.232.82 03:45, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just edited out the five foot ten piece. He is 5 ft 6 to 7ins

I don't think Luis Garcia's height is 5'9 3/4"... unless he's had a growth spurt. I'm changing it back to 5'6" until someone finds evidence of him being taller.Fobioh 20:40, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Marriage?

[edit]

I think we can edit out that Luis got married again. Does everyone agree that the article (http://www.costablancaleader.com/sport/article.php?article_id=12030&article_section_id=7) saying that Luis Garcia was married on June 1, 2007 was incorrect? Fobioh 05:42, 2 July 2007 (UTC) yea he did not just get married he has been married since july 4, 2003. that was the wrong luis garcia. that was the luis garcia of espanyol i believe just look at the picture that is not him.[reply]

A new picture should probably be included, with Luis playing for Atletico Madrid. Fobioh 17:26, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
