Cancer and death

[edit]

Something is either wrong or unexplained here. Glioblastoma multiforme is a brain cancer, yet the quotation refers to breast cancer. Of course, this article needs to go some distance to even establish the subject's notability. Maybe the cancer issue is moot. Pinkville 22:36, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"In the 1970s, brazen beauty Lynn Kohlman took the fashion world by storm. Then, after appearing in magazines around the world, Lynn ended her career as a model to become a famed photographer and the creative director at DKNY. She also started a family. In 2002, Lynn felt a lump in her breast. It was cancer ... and it had spread to both breasts. There was only one real treatment option—a radical double mastectomy followed by aggressive chemotherapy. After her treatment, doctors delivered the good news that her breast cancer was gone. With the help of her best friend Donna Karan, Lynn took on a new approach to living. She became passionate about studying yoga and staying healthy. But as it turned out, breast cancer was just the beginning of her battle. A few months later, during yoga class, Lynn felt a surge of fire rush through her body. She was having a seizure. Subsequent medical tests confirmed what Lynn says she already knew—it was brain cancer. Doctors gave her six months to live…that was three years ago." [1]

The text in the article is much better. But interestingly, glioblastoma does not occur as a result of metastasis, so her breast cancer and brain cancer are presumably unrelated. Pinkville 01:14, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've never heard of breast cancer metastasising to the brain; only to bone(s), lung(s), or both. Therefore her breast and brain cancers must have been separate. Can anyone clarify whether she died of breast cancer, brain cancer, or both? Werdnawerdna (talk) 19:30, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Kohlman-Lynn.jpg

[edit]

Image:Kohlman-Lynn.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 10:40, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
