Bennie Garza
[edit]As I wrote in my note accompanying my reversion of the last edit, if Bennie Garza is very well-known then you can create a Wikipedia page for him, as is the case with almost all the other entries in the "Noteworthy persons" list. At the very least, come up with some references (I can't find any of note). As nice as Mr. Garza may be, that doesn't make him notable. Check out WP:BIO for more information. - A third opinion was requested for this, though there does not appear to be an active discussion involving two editors on this Talk page. I am willing to provide an opinion and generally concur with Hondo77 - we require that a notable person have an article to link. NB: This need not be a biographical article on that person; we could include "Jo Smith, inventor of Widget X", or similar; in such a case, the tie between the person and the linked article should be strong. Hope this helps. - Ryk72 'c.s.n.s.' 18:38, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
Sorry. I have moved the discussion that was on my talk page, below:
On the madera history you took off a person we think should be on there. We work for the city of madera. Bennie Garza has accomplish so much. He has a bachelors in audio production. He has did work for the city He produce the songs for the mayor for the pomergranted festival. Hes produced and wrote music for a lot of people in the industry. He owns his own studio and is giving his time back to the youth. Hes taught recording production classes for the city. Hes very well acomplish in the music industry. And were glad hes from our town. Alot of people look up to him. To top it off hes engineered more than 100 songs and some being big names like kid ink. Joegreen1991 (talk) 23:37, 17 December 2015 (UTC)

- Who are you to decide if hes not important. Hes acomplished a lot. And some entry s on the wiki dont have a wiki page so why does he have to have one. Hes know around madra for his great things in music. Hes a cerified audio engineer. They are looked passed when it comes to the music industry. Hes the guy behind the board. So just because you disagree doesnt mean everyone else will. Hes engineered songs for the city of madera. Produced songs for the mayor and and other artists taught classes so why cant he be on there all hes been is succesful and just like the other people were born and raise here — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joegreen1991 (talk • contribs) 06:12, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
- I didn't decide he's not important. Read the WP:BIO link and you'll see he simply doesn't qualify as notable for Wikipedia. Hondo77 (talk) 03:53, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

- Thats just a view. Hes mixed a lot of songs in the industry as well. Audio Engineers hardly get credit for songs unless thr song blows up or is featured on a cd. . Producers and artist get more credit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joegreen1991 (talk • contribs) 04:20, 20 December 2015 (UTC)
- First, the LA Music Awards are a fake awards event. You pay, you get nominated. Not good enough. Second, by your own admission, he's not notable enough to get credit. Audio engineers get credit all the time if they do notable work. If he's not notable enough to get real credit, by definition, he's not notable enough to be included on the Madera page. Removal of the known fact of Hal Kemp's death, in Madera, 1940.
[edit]A great shame. Such edits remove the opportunity for everyone to broaden their knowledge. An equivalent, equally valid response, of greater mental latitude, (allowing each party to reach an accommodation, which opportunity still exists), should have been to relocate the piece into the area's history. The question, "Why include his widow?", naturally stimulates "Why exclude entirely, in passing?". It can be seen merely by a few seconds resistance to the more obvious, that a small shift in thinking, innocuous, broader, and accommodating, rather than censorious, retrieves the formerly little known from the obscure and into the record again; which is one reason for a dictionary's existence. Never mind, the truth remains true. 79.73.40.255 (talk) 14:43, 30 March 2021 (UTC)
- As the subheading to the Notable people section states: "Noteworthy persons from Madera". Kemp was not from Madera. As for rescuing the "little known" from obscurity, the location of his death is already noted on his Wikipedia (which is not a dictionary) page. Hondo77 (talk) 15:24, 30 March 2021 (UTC)
Morning. It could easily have been included somehow, in the main body, as an incident of interest. These passing comments often stimulate interest in others, to whom names should otherwise be unknown; such as those who are interested in Madera, who shall never visit the Kemp page, so shall never have the opportunity of having that interest aroused. Very well, officially it's not a dictionary; but it's used as; thought of, and for many is. Goodnight. Heath St John (talk) 01:31, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
