Closure date[edit]

1st January 1917 is stated by Nick Catfords "Disused Stations" web site. Can this be confirmed in Butt or Clinkers books ? [[78.151.173.143 (talk) 22:14, 21 January 2010 (UTC)]][reply]

1 January 1917 is in "Clinker's Register" and also in "Railway Passenger Stations in Great Britain: A Chronology" by Michael Quick, published by the Railway and Canal Historical Society in 2009, the latter more definitive source than Butt or Jowett (and even Clinker). The vagueness of the date (1916 or 1917) is probably due to the last trains actually calling during the last days of December 1916; presentday convention is to specify closure as the first on which day trains did not call but would have done had closure not taken place. Someone more Wikipedia-savvy than I should make the correction and add the "Quick" reference. Jamjarface (talk) 14:23, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

June 2017 discussions[edit]

What happened? A statement that 'the discussions happened, but further action was not taken' might suit. Jackiespeel (talk) 11:36, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
