Can I get a request to edit this page.please. Chumki1234roy666 (talk) 16:07, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This page is being greatly manipulated because the lead actress has plenty of opposition in politics. Her views are condemnable but that shouldn't lead to misrepresentation of facts and figures by unreliable elements. Please lock this page for the data it has now as on date. The total worldwide gross is incorrect on the page. Both on the table at the top right and also in the 'reception' section below. Coolkarantiwari (talk) 09:11, 4 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. DannyS712 (talk) 09:44, 4 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The budget has been incorrectly stated[edit]

The budget of the movie which is 105 crores has been deliberately shown as 125 crore. Multiple fake articles such as the one below confirmed that the budget was 125 crore and not 105 crore. However legitimate sources reveals the actual final budget including print and media is 105 Cr.

https://www.firstpost.com/entertainment/budget-of-manikarnika-the-queen-of-jhansi-soars-to-rs-125-cr-due-to-production-delays-reshoots-5111771.html

And note that Bollywood Hungama has been used as the link for collections. The same website confirms that the budget was in fact 125 crores.

https://www.bollywoodhungama.com/news/bollywood/exclusive-manikarnika-queen-jhansis-budget-jumps-rs-125-crores-due-reshoots/

Also, the source which says the budget is 105 crores goes on to say that the collections (after 11 days) are 115 crores as against 109.56 crores shown by Bollywood Hungama. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 171.76.74.226 (talk) 13:58, 5 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please change the budget to 125 crores or use a different source for collections. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 171.76.74.226 (talk) 13:55, 5 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

How can we be sure that the 125 crore figure is the more accurate of the two numbers? Because it's higher? Wouldn't the article written most recently have a better circumspective idea of what the budget was, vs. an older article being written during the madness of the film's production? Anyway, these are moot points, because this source you provided, and this source that's already in the article indicate that both figures include print and advertising costs, which are never considered part of a film's production budget. Thus, I'm changing the figure to 80 crore per the Yahoo.com article, until some other reliable source presents a conflicting opinion about the production budget, at which time we could present the figure in the form of a range, i.e. 80–NNN crore. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:02, 5 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The reason why the 125 crore figure should be mentioned is because it is coming from the SAME SOURCE as the collections figure i.e. Bollywood Hungama. Also, if a recent source is what you want, you can check this

Manipulation of information[edit]

I respectfully request that the manipulation of information be controlled, in order to maintain credibility or at least fluidity. This film is in controversy from the very start, the rights to the script-idea-research are disputed and Director writer Hansal Mehta has a valid claim that is not mentioned in the details page.

  • The director Krish as he prefers to be known directed for 400 days and finished the film, turned it in, it was agreed that some "patch work" was needed and that it was minor so it could be done without him being present and that he would be kept informed of changes, while he went to take up his scheduled next project. He did not leave the film halfway, he was under the impression that it would be done as he was informed. The lead actress decided she wanted to change the finished movie, and went on to to remove or replace other actors and their portions in the movie, she then fired the original editing team a group of men, went to the original editor and took his files by force. Kangana took over and re-directed/edited some of the scenes exactly as Krish had done with the changes of actors, and added others where she felt that the background "girls" where too visible.
  • During this time a photo was "leaked" to the media naming Kangana as the director, she gave statements to the media that she was not the director and that scene was done using a clapboard with her name to avoid confusion. She further stated that she would not be taking any credit for directing.
  • The first poster that was released to the media had Krish as the director, subsequent posters later in 2018 then listed both Krish and Kangana as directors and finally the movie was released with Kangana as first director and Krish name was placed second as Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi. Clearly a blatant credit take over. Note it is the third time Kangana Ranaut is accused publicly by different people of having taken credit for their work.
  • Nick Powell a Hollywood action choreographer/director was hired to "help" the lead actress, his name or credits are not mentioned either link to one of many publications stating this fact: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/hindi/bollywood/photo-features/kangana-ranauts-manikarnika-the-queen-of-jhansi-interesting-facts-about-the-film/this-is-what-action-director-nick-powell-has-to-say-about-kangana-ranaut-performing-action-stunts-in-manikarnika-the-queen-of-jhansi/photostory/66585482.cms
  • The lead actress has taken the first credits for "directing" the film, something that is in contention and disputed by Krish the director and by other members who worked on the film.
  • During the filming different people including technicians actors guild-one lead actor-a vendor-Krish claim that they were not being paid for their work, some of the claims settled and some did not, but this is also a controversy.
  • The lead actress went on to claim that an extreme religious group Shri Rajput Karni Sena (SRKS)a Rajput caste organization in India. That had been involved in violent protests over several issues, most recently, a well publicized protest against the movie Padmaavat. Had also issued warnings to her and it was widely publicized by her, with back and forth threats with her claiming that she would destroy them if they interfered with her. All the bravado extinguished because the leader of the organization gave a media statement claiming they had no interest in her or her movie further stating Ms. Ranaut was using their name to create false publicity, and that they had not threatened her, when the movie was released no mention of Karni Sena was again published by her PR.
  • The films release was pushed back several times starting with a publicized release of April 2018, then in June the completion of all patchwork was announced and a release date of November 2018 was given, finally it was released on January 25, 2019.
  • Since the films release the Box Office numbers have been tracked and tabulated to approximation. However on your site the budget amount or cost has been manipulated several times and the figure decreased considerably from the publicized amount by the producers, this is done to have the film tagged as a profitable hit. However the budget reported by the producers and analysts list the final figure to be between 125 crore and 130 crore.
  • The film has gotten mixed reviews by critics and public alike, with claims that the digital VFX is of poor quality as well as the fact that it is more a moving selfy of Ms. Ranaut and not about the historical figure. The pro comments state feelings of patriotism and regard for history as to why they see the movie favorably and discount it's faults. link to one collated critic site as reference. http://reviewschview.com/ CriticusExpertus (talk) 21:06, 6 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Budget manipulation[edit]

Again on February 9 2019, the budget has been manipulated on Wikipedia and given a spread of 90 cr to 125 cr, that is an unheard of spread of 35cr. This is not correct. All the trade sites and analyst have the budget at 125cr to 130cr. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CriticusExpertus (talkcontribs) 05:13, 12 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@CriticusExpertus: In this edit, I presented the budget as a range of opinion after this guy boosted it from 80 to 125 crore, this person brought it from 125 back down to 80 crore, Krimuk 2.0 brought it up to 99 crore. Since there was an obvious conflict of opinion, I set it up as a range. If you disagree with the range, you're welcome to explain why, but your assertion that it is not correct has not yet been proven. Please feel free to prove. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:31, 12 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and let's also remember that print and advertising costs should never be factored into a film's budget. A "budget" refers generally to the raw cost of producing the film. So while this source claimed a 105 crore budget, that was actually an 80 crore production budget + 25 crore print and advertising. We have to do some subtracting here. Change budget from 125 crore to 99 crore as confirmed by Boxofficeindia.com and also by Rangoli Chandel (Kangana Ranaut's sister and part of her team).

Change the Box Office total from 136.80 crore to 150 crore as confirmed by the articles listed below as a reference. The number has not been updated by Bollywood Hungama, which you are referencing, for nearly 10 days.

Partly done: Don't submit multiple requests, as you did here, please. I'm not fixing the budget, because if there is a discrepancy in the reported figures, we should present it in the form of a range. The argument that we should listen to Kangana Ranaut's sister is unconvincing, since we don't typically consider primary sources for controversial information. I've updated the gross. To the information confirmed by several media outlets including the following two sources:

There is no need to mention the unacceptably wide box-office bracket - ₹136.8–150 crore, when reliable sources have already confirmed the latter. There is no need to still stick to the 136.8 figure, just because one particular website (Bollywood Hungama) has not updated its figures for more than two weeks.

We're not in a hurry as there is no deadline. I mean, I gotta wonder--why did Bollywood Hungama stop updating its figures? Seems like this is right up their alley, what with it being a Bollywood film and all. We'd certainly not make a change based on the source you provided, though. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:15, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oh look, now BH reads 141.29. So now there's an update and still a discrepancy. Good thing we didn't rush. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:49, 23 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Kangana Ranaut co-directed the film “Manikarnika” which was well mentioned in the posters and in the movie as well. However there is no mention for the same. 223.181.56.227 (talk) 04:52, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
