Manvel/Manuel[edit]

On the Nevada State Athletic Commission's website, his name was spelled Manuel not Manvel. That's why I changed it.Check it out. [1] (MgTurtle 23:57, 25 June 2007 (UTC)).[reply]

How weird. I distinctly heard a lot of "Manvel" on the air -- I'm wondering if "Manuel" is pronounced /man-vel/. In either case it'd be nice to have more literature. Also, a note on the main page about the confusion will probably help avoid future revert wars. -- Metahacker 23:41, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It was a typo. His official website, anvilmma.com calls him Manvel (his full name) and Manny (a short form of Manvel), but never mentions "Manuel" anywhere as a name for the fighter.

Neutral Tone in first paragraph[edit]

I'm referring to "After dominating and controlling Diaz for the majority of the fight, he lost to Diaz in the second round due to dislocating his right shoulder on a successful takedown attempt and, subsequently, tapping out."

This is purely a matter of opinion. Many people watching the fight would strongly disagree (myself included) that he was "dominating and controlling" the fight. It was much closer that the writer suggests here. Furthermore, the takedown attempt which led to his injury was, in fact, an UNsuccessful takedown; Diaz sprawled out to avoid the takedown, probably contributing to the dislocation.

The writer in this instance is writing with what seems to be a slight bias towards Gamburyan.

Incorrect information about winning in three divisions[edit]

The article stated "Gamburyan faced Cody Gibson in a bantamweight bout on September 27, 2014 at UFC 178. He won the fight via submission in the second round. In doing so, he became the first UFC fighter to win at 3 different weight classes." That is incorrect, at least one other fighter has done that previously in Kenny Florian.
