Someone should write the storyline. This game deserves a whole lot of credit it didn't get.

It did not get credit becuase it was not a good game. It was promoted as something new and original and it was not. It was like modern day Prince of persia. I played it and it was just to plain and done before.
The issue of "credit" aside, expansion of the article is certainly welcomed. Let's not allow personal taste to obstruct the way the article could be improved. Thanks. ╫ 25 ◀RingADing▶ 16:14, 20 April 2006 (UTC) ╫[reply]
i agree with the fact that this article need an entry on story line but i also think that, if possible, it should have some more information on how it was banned in australia due to the themes dipicted in it. Xykon 01:08, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you don't mind me asking, what was the name of the game engine the game used? Just a bit curious as the gameplay videos showed the game with very similar level design and character animations to the PoP games to the point where I was beginning to wonder if it used the same game engine or editing tools. Do any of you know? Vgamer101 19:18, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

the whole sung knew 9/06 stuff is based on bush knowing about 9/11, and how much today's graffitiartists are against bush, sung got his opponent killed the same way bush attacked WTC and they both got more power with it, compare it 9/06 = 9/11, and Bush = Sung, and the CCK = the army or the stronger policeforce (see the documentary: Martial Law 9/11: Rise of the Police State by Alex Jones), and the fact that bush worked with a graffitiartist to kill his opponent is based on the fact that bush worked with the bin laden family in the oilbuissness --G-funkstar 19:07, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wasn't there some article concerning Ecko's response to the negative gamer response to the product? I thought I read somewhere that Ecko had said something about that. Or did I make that up?

He basically said that gamers didn't know what a good game was, claimed that his game was miles better than GTA:SA, said the poor success was due to gamers having a bug up their ass about "anything urban" (while ignoring the success of, y'know... GTA:SA). He then admits that the game didn't play all that great and tries to pin the game's faults and graphical problems on the PS2.
I'd love to show this guy a copy of Metal Gear Solid 3. 151.151.21.99 18:19, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism[edit]

The game had an amazingly good story-line, a good voice actor, and the theme of the game is just great overall, being about freedom of expression against a deep-seeded hate for graffiti under the false assumption that all graf-art is "vandalism". The engine could use some work. I found the acrobatics in the game to be very fun (while some people have compared it to PoP, I must tell you, playing both, you'll notice a difference. PoP has a much more fluid system, while GU:CUP seems more rigid and stiff, though still enjoyable). I also enjoy the sense of rebellion, and the ability to basically say "Fuck you, government."

So, people need to stop bad-mouthing it. And yes, a plot does need to be written up - when I get a new chord for my XBox, I'll be sure to go and rent the game and type up a decent plot. 12.107.247.7 02:07, 13 January 2007 (UTC) , People, this arguing is pointless and has nothing to do with the article. In truth, the game was NOT critically panned (receiving a score of 71/100 on the compilation website metacritic.com), this article needs to be redone.68.193.87.97 23:44, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How about mentioning the PC problem with the game not recognizing the DVD? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.202.6.127 (talk) 03:24, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
