Hi Megalibrarygirl - I've noted at the AfD that I want to withdraw the nomination following the improvements you (and others) have made to the article. Looking at it in its current state, there's one thing that still troubles me about it, but I thought I'd better raise it here before making a change.
The only quote we're using from any of the reviews is very positive: "a lovingly crafted and mostly well-executed take on the genre". That quote is certainly in there, but there are quite a few less positive things it has to say, and the other substantial review is pretty negative ("If it were a film, it would go straight to video"). Wouldn't it be more faithful to the sources to say something along the lines of 'her recordings received mixed reviews from critics'? I know that's a bit WP:SYNTHy, but at present it looks like we're cherry picking the most positive quote we can find. Cheers GirthSummit (blether)08:55, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Girth Summit: I think that's a good idea. The sentence you quote was already in the article, but you're right: not everyone liked her work all the time! We could maybe add a negative review to balance it out. Megalibrarygirl (talk) 17:29, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yes, sorry, I wasn't meaning to suggest that you'd added it. You've done a great job of tidying it up, I just think this is one last thing that needs to change. We could add a negative review for balance, but I'm wondering if there's something more nuanced we could say. As I read them, both reviews seem to be saying that the music is incredibly niche, but that it 'ticks the boxes' that the genre calls for - I'm not sure I'm expressing that very well, but hopefully you know what I mean. Do you think it would be possible to express that somehow within the article based on the sources we've got? GirthSummit (blether)17:43, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
