Singular or plural[edit]

The article is not consistent - both factually and grammatically - with its use of singular and plural when referring to the building(s). Eg

The Marich Buildings is located at the corner ... and date from c1897; ...

The two storey building is constructed ... The building were also known as ...

The building was classified by the National Trust of Australia

How many buildings are there (or were there in the past): one or more than one?

Some rewording is required to fix the grammar and make the article a bit more consistent. If the number of buildings has varied (between one and more-than-one) during the site's history, and/or if different buildings have existed but are no longer there, and/or those multiple buildings are all covered by the scope of the article, the article needs to say so a bit more clearly.

Note that "several single story shops on the site" does not help, because the several shops could be separate buildings, or they could be part of the same building. Mitch Ames (talk) 08:51, 14 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • understand the confusion, whilst it is a single building it is referred to as the Marich Buildings.Dan arndt (talk) 06:08, 15 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest that the article should:
  • make explicit mention of the misnomer, so that the reader is aware that it is not actually an error in the article
  • state why the single building has a plural name - if we know

Have struggled to find any online sources that explain why the building is called the "Marich Buildings" however on the parapet of the building (car High & Henry Streets) it clearly states MARICH BLGS. I would have to presume that it recieved the name during the MARICH family's ownership. Will have to visit the Fremantle Local History Collection hopefully for the answer.Dan arndt (talk) 03:27, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
