Monster Yoshi?

[edit]
I suppose we'll find out eventually. Optichan 22:52, August 8, 2005 (UTC)
No, I wanna know how the Hell someone knew about Monster Yoshi. Where was it ever shown? -- A Link to the Past 22:58, August 8, 2005 (UTC)
There's that one screenshot of a big purple Yoshi on the top screen hanging on a cliffside, and on the bottom screen are the Mario Bros staring it in the face. The nose, eyes, shoes, and saddle/shell/whatever it is are dead giveaways that it's a Yoshi. Agent CH 03:17:53, 2005-09-06 (UTC)
It's a parody of Barney, actually.
Well, actully, I put it there, because in a couple of screenshots at E3, you saw a huge Purple Yoshi (Didn't know it was Shroobs back then), and also, in the demo, people said it was there to ( if I'm right)

The idea: Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time has 4 elements. 1. Independence Day. 2. War of the Worlds. 3. Science Fiction (time travel and aliens). 4. RPG gameplay with Mario and Luigi and their baby counterparts.

Where is it stated that Maurice LaMarche is playing Luigi?

I'm having doubts about this too (and the VA for the Baby Bros), for two reasons. 1) In the videos of the game, Luigi and the babies sound just as they have in the other games with Martinet voicing them, and 2) I checked Google, and this is the only site that says Mauric LaMarche and Russi Taylor are doing those voices. Agent CH 20:51, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't this article domain be named /Mario_&_Luigi:_Partners_in_Time instead of /Mario_%26_Luigi:_Partners_in_Time?

The problem is with your browser, it just happens that way when you follow a link, the "&" gets replaced with "%26". -- VederJuda 18:11, 22 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
URIs do not normally allow characters such as "&" (ampersand), but MediaWiki allows them. This is normal, as the percent sign (%) is an escape character that allow these characters to be represented in an URI (see Percent-encoding). Dragon 280 (talk) 17:38, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Voice of Baby Peach

[edit]

Tajja Isen's agent has written Wikipedia to say she is not doing the voice of Baby Peach and that we should remove this information; however, I was unable to find the name of the person who is. Mindspillage (spill yours?) 03:11, 23 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Story

[edit]

That section is way too long. Its length should at least be cut in half. –Llama man 20:01, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I cut it in half when I revised the entire article a few months ago. Someone else brought it back. --ThomasO1989 00:07, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just reverted it back to the revision. --ThomasO1989 00:09, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Minor characters: Koopalings?

[edit]

Eh? The koopalings are in this game? I don't have the game but I decided to try and verify this by searching walktroughs and other FAQ's, and I can't find anything that says they are included.

Can anyone prove this? Ace Combat Fanatic 18:26, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've played through it a few times, and as far as I know, the Koopalings are not in the game. I've removed them from the list of characters. — MalcolmUse the schwartz! 18:41, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA Review

[edit]

This review is transcluded from Talk:Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

I've given the article a quick scan, and it seems like it will pass the GA criteria. I will continue reviewing and leave a list of things to fix below soon. Good luck! --haha169 (talk) 17:20, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Problems to fix:

  • Try not to use IGN as a primary source. Try and find others if possible.
  • "Regarding the game's controls, reviewers expressed difficulty with coordinating the four characters...", is it just me, or does it sound a bit odd? How about: "Reviewers complained about the game's controls, expressing difficulty..."
  • "Only the adults receive damage, although it will be transferred to a baby if their respective partner is eliminated from battle.", What will be transferred to the baby, the adult or the damage? Try, "although damage can be dealt to the baby if..."

Overall, great article! Good job on the jump from C-rating to GA, (soon) if you fix the errors listed above. I may come up with more later on, but stay with these for now. --haha169 (talk) 22:52, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I think I've fixed all of the issues. For IGN, I don't necessarily see this as an issue unless there is an imbalance in "Reception", as these are just facts being supported. However, I do see your point, so I've provided some extra refs besides some IGN refs so the article is less dependent on IGN in parts. Thank you for the review. Ashnard Talk Contribs 07:42, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Good job. Thanks for your quick reply, since I wasn't sure if I could handle a long GAN (like my assessment with MGS) during a FAC. I've promoted it. Good job! (This is the first time I haven't used a checklist...) ack. If I forgot to do something, or made an error, please correct it for me. :) Thanks! --haha169 (talk) 17:06, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Much appreciated. Since you asked, the "page=n" on the template corresponds to the review number, which is 1 in this case, since this is the article's first GAN. Thanks. Ashnard Talk Contribs 17:52, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Plot not related?

[edit]

"Although the sequel to Superstar Saga, the game's plot is unrelated to that of its predecessor"

This phraseology sounds like it's indicating that the plot is basically completely disconnected from the other game. But that's not entirely true; there is definitely an articulate chronology from the first three games (I've not played the fourth yet, please warn me if you're going to give out plot details), mostly because of Fawful. In the first game, he is defeated and sent flying out of a ship. In the second, he operates a gray-market bean trading store, and mentions to the baby Mario and Luigi's many things (that he was defeated by Mario and Luigi, that he hates them because of it, that he was defeated by Overheat...), and also says that soon he will rise again.

And then in the third game, he's the main villain, having risen again.

Also, I'm aware that Starlow returns as your helper in the newest game, so there's another connecting character chain.

So I don't know if saying 'the plot isn't related' is the right way to say it or not, but just know that it could be misleading. That'd be a more fitting description of the Mario platform games; which could take place in almost any order. These games clearly take place in order, and I believe that that line could make people believe otherwise. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.142.172.22 (talk) 06:34, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sequels

[edit]

The sequels section is not necessary. As someone brought up on WP:VG talk regarding listing sequels, all it does is what the List of Mario role-playing games article already does. It's already established that this game is part of a series, therefore it has sequels. It's simply not appropriate here. --ThomasO1989 (talk) 22:51, 1 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
