User manual
[edit]If anyone has a link to the user manual (PDF), it would be a valuable addition. I don't see it on the couple of sites that normally have them. Thanks. Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 17:59, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Model 55 history
[edit]This book seems to indicate other model 55s that aren't the Goose gun. There is also a small section on page 431 on the SuperGoose.

- Interesting. I wonder if a renaming and/or 'Variants' section is in order considering the number of variants and the length of the production history. Thoughts? Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 18:05, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- Renaming as Marlin Model 55 and then leaving a redirect to the new article from the Goose Gun article is what looks about right to me. The Goose Gun seems to be a variant and the Hunter model seems to be the flagship if I'm reading that correctly. What do you think?
⋙–Berean–Hunter—► ((⊕)) 18:21, 29 July 2009 (UTC)- The renaming sounds like a good plan. It would appear that the other lines were dropped at some point, only leaving the Goose Gun produced in the 90s-2000s, so that might explain why later sources only list that variant. After the rename, what do you think about a short, sourced section regarding the variants? Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 18:24, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- Works for me...I'm still looking for an online manual for the Model 55 as you requested above and not coming up with much.
⋙–Berean–Hunter—► ((⊕)) 18:33, 29 July 2009 (UTC)- OK, sounds like a plan. Depending on how things go tomorrow, I'll try to work on it then. BTW, I noticed there were a few of related models (59, 60 and 61) chambered in .410-bore. Do you think they belong in the variants, as a separate article, or neither? --Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 03:31, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Alrighty, move is done. Now need to add a variants section and miscellaneous clean up. Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 15:49, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- I added some of the variants but left the .410 models off since I don't have hardly any info on them. They could still be added. I'm still thumbing through books looking for more info..
⋙–Berean–Hunter—► ((⊕)) 01:05, 1 August 2009 (UTC)- Thanks, those additions look great. The book you referenced above has a little info regarding the .410 variants. I'll see what I can dig up as well. Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 04:05, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
