Bias/NPOV

[edit]

So when he beats veterans Rowdy Shearer and Chicka Ferguson (two quick players but hardly the quickest) it confirms "his standing as the fastest player in rugby league" but when he loses to Lee Oudenryn he must have deliberately lost so his mates could collect? Seriously... At least throw in a decent source for this claim. This may also want to be toned down. "His 90-metre solo try in the 1994 Challenge Cup Final win over Leeds is remembered as one of the finest ever seen in a final, but he made a habit of such runs during his career" Offiah was a magnificent player, there's no need to pump his tyres with unsourced personal opinion.Tigerman2005 (talk) 01:07, 20 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Search page

[edit]

When searching for Martin Offiah, it comes up listing him as a Rugby Union player. Since the majority of his career, and almost all of his success, came as a Rugby League player, this is his main claim to fame, and should be referenced in the search page. I can't see how to change this however. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mikeholden (talkcontribs) 05:27, 9 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What you say about Offiah primarily being a rugby league player is true, Mikeholden, but I don't know what you mean when you say, "When searching for Martin Offiah, it comes up listing him as a Rugby Union player". Can you be more specific?--Gibson Flying V (talk) 13:40, 9 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Using Chrome, go to https://www.wikipedia.org In the Search box, type martin offiah. A popup appears below the prompt, File:Screenshot_Martin_Offiah_search.jpg — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mikeholden (talkcontribs) 03:40, 10 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like no one knows how to change it. 18 months later from Mikeholden's comment, I am looking for Offfiah. When I type 'Martin Offiah' in the entry box on wikipedia.org, a little box appears saying "English rugby union player". For someone who played in a mere 450 or so rugby league matches, yet a staggering 22 games in union, I will, nevertheless, be contentious enough to say that his time in league has the edge over the other game.
