Thank you to whoever added the picture. Does anyone have a picture of the reverse face of the monument that could be put up?

Hello, I have many pictures from when I did some work in Magadan. I have for instance many more of the religious symbols carved into the stones, but I am not sure if it is appropriate to have more than one example in here? Please send me a message if anything more is wanted on this page. user: graahl —Preceding unsigned comment added by Graahl (talkcontribs) 23:08, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Something must be wrong

The society of old GULAG vitims were present at the opening of the Mask of Sorrow in 1994. I have several stories about the day. One of the old prisoners demonstrated against in protest of the fact, that the bust of Berzin, the founder of DALSTROY, is in the middle of Magadan while the mask was "deported" to the outskirt of the town. Further, I was in Magadan the 16th. of June 1996 and there was nothing told about the claimed resent event. Note that Russian monuments are often revealed several times if Russian politicians can gain something from it and therefore a monument can have several official dates. The brochure of the mask do say June 12, 1996. Jens Alstrup - http://www.gulag.eu —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.184.46.196 (talk) 12:10, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I watched a documentary entitled Kolyma - Birthplace of Russia's Fear (located here). There was quite a bit about the Mask of Sorrow, and I thought it might be useful in an article here. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 16:09, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
