Some Indo Mauritian Muslims......
[edit]A large number of Indo-Mauritian muslims are descended from diverse Indian backgrounds. I'll take myself for example: on my mother's side my grandma's grandparents were Gujarati and My Grandad's father spoke Hindi and his Mother Bhojpuri, and on my father's side my Grandmother's great grandparents (labourers) spoke Marathi and my Grandfather's dad (born to indian parents) spoke Hindi. One of my Friends has ancestors from Bihar as well as Tamil Nadu. My grandparents tell me that it was mostly Muslims who married other races and not other Indo-Mauritians is because Muslims are, despite ethnic background, classed under a single category (Lascar) whereas others, mostly Aryan Hindus and Tamils (known as Malabar and Madras groups in Mauritius), divided themselves on ethnic boundaries and kept their caste system, much like their Indian forefathers. However to describe myself I would be called "Hindi" because most of my ancestry is Hindi. This goes for other Muslims too
Is there any way I could interpret this into the article?

You are mixing religion, ethnic groups and language all together. Furthermore,Indians who came from bihar were all bhojpuris. Bhojpuri is not just a language but an ethnic group. Most indo mauritians, whether hindu or muslim are bhojpuris. Most hindu Bhojpuris in Mauritius speaks hindi instead of bhojpuri and most muslims bhojpuri in mauritius speaks arabic or urdu instead of bhojpuri. Bhojpuri is only spoken by old bhojpuri people. The young hindu bhojpuri people talk in hindi and the young muslim bhojpuri people talk in arabic or urdu. i would say that your grandfather's father ethnicity was bhojpuri because hindi speakers in mauritius are bhojpuris.GoldenSpartan1203 (talk) 10:57, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
